My other life as technical guy
See, I live dual lives. One is CEO of a company that solves technical issues (Macs, servers, Adobe apps, etc) for creative people. The other life is a guy who listens to people’s non technical issues (career, passion, direction) and helps them create their own fix. Sometimes I get press on either the tech side or the non tech side. It is all about seeking a balance so you can do both-Passion & Career.
So my life is a real world example of how both can exist peacefully as long as you have a clear passion for one of them. It wasn’t easy and I didn’t do it alone. I listened, worked with someone who provided direction. Solidified my faith and knew it wasn’t all about me. But I had the desire to address that missing piece that allowed me to fulfill my purpose.
Are you targeted in on your purpose? Do you have a plan to have a career and a passion and do both? Tell me how you make it work or if you think it is possible.

What You Don’t “No” Can’t Hurt You
I’ve always considered myself a glass half full type of person. You know, Ms. Positive, with my glass half full of my favorite wine. But someone recently suggested that I was a negative Nancy. He pointed out that at times, my language was negative. I thought, “What? That’s not true.”
I demanded examples. He pointed out that instead of saying “yes” I sometimes use substitute words such as “sure,” “OK,” and “yeah.”
And I thought, “Yeah, OK, so what”?
“Yes” And “Sure” Are Not the Same
He argued that those words (sure, all right, OK, and yeah) really aren’t the same as “yes.” He said, “Lisa, when you say ‘yes’ it’s crystal clear that you mean yes, but when you say ‘sure’, or ‘OK’ or ‘yeah’ it’s like you are reluctantly agreeing. It’s even worse when you say ‘whatever’.”
I had to admit, he had a point. After listening more carefully to my word choice, I realized there is a slight, but perceptible difference. Especially when you add in a negative tone of voice, there can be a BIG difference. (continued- follow link below)

Turning off
“Downtime is not turning off” I tell myself. I have downtime after work, in between errands, when I make an effort. But my downtime is downtime, and I’m not “off.”
I was recently discussing this with a longtime friend; we both have very creative sides, and we were remarking that we have “downtime,” we don’t necessarily turn “off.” We don’t let quiet in. (There’s always something to do!) When we are relaxing, we are often occupied by books, movies, other friends. Why turn off? Why not? When do you ever?
Enough said. Today, I leave you not with a question, but a challenge: 5 minutes, turn off. See what happens.

Are you happy yet?
How long do you stay happy? What makes it go away or was it just your attitude toward it?How long does the value of a major success last in your life? Is it all about being happy? Are you ever really happy?
Lots of questions yet there are some big thinkers who challenge your perception of happy. I recommend that you look at this video and tell me what you think. He has some “evolutionary” points I differ on yet there is value within.
